About Us

More Than a Charity. A Movement for Health Equity.

At From Me To You (FM2U), we believe healthcare should work for everyone.

We’re an award-winning charity dedicated to reducing health inequalities and improving outcomes for Black and marginalised communities through research, advocacy, community and education.

Every programme we deliver, every partnership we build and every conversation we have is driven by one simple belief:

Everyone deserves to be seen, heard and supported throughout their healthcare journey.

( ( OUR STORY ) )

One Journey. Two Perspectives. One Mission.

FM2U was born through lived experience. Not from a business plan. Not from an idea on paper. But from one family’s journey through cancer. When Judith was diagnosed with cancer, life changed forever. Like many people navigating a life-changing diagnosis, she experienced uncertainty, fear and difficult decisions. Alongside the physical and emotional challenges of treatment came another reality, navigating a healthcare system that didn’t always reflect the needs, experiences and voices of Black communities. Standing beside Judith throughout that journey was her daughter, Ashleigh. While Judith experienced cancer as the patient, Ashleigh experienced it as the carer. She saw first-hand the emotional toll that caring for someone you love can bring. She experienced the unanswered questions, the search for information, the challenge of navigating services and the importance of having someone to advocate alongside you. Together they discovered something powerful. Healthcare isn’t only about treatment. It’s about being heard. Being understood. Being represented. Being connected. What started as one family’s experience became a mission to ensure that no one has to navigate their healthcare journey alone. That mission became From Me To You (FM2U). Today, FM2U works alongside communities, healthcare organisations, universities, charities and researchers to reduce health inequalities, amplify lived experience and create meaningful, lasting change.
